Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll

Eh. As children's stories they don't do a thing for me. I don't believe it's because I'm not the target audience. I love children's books. I love to hit the library or book store, settle into the children's section and start reading. It's fun and relaxing. But these two stories just don't do it for me as a children's story. The fact that I want to smack Alice because she's such a snotty little brat doesn't help.

As a satire on Victorian society, however, I found them amusing, though I only caught a few things. I'm thinking of finding an annotated copy to read, one which points out all of the satire that I'm totally missing.
